If you have an associate degree, are switching majors, want to transfer to nursing, or have a degree but want to switch careers, we’ll help you embark on that journey. At Lakeview College of Nursing, you won’t just be a part of a program, you’ll be part of a family. With our smaller campus feel in Illinois (Charleston and Danville Campuses), you’ll be welcomed right away as professors get to know you on a one-on-one basis.
Choose from our flexible curriculum tracks to achieve your goals in nursing!
Transfer prerequisite requirements from any regionally accredited college or university before starting our program. All of our students are transfers. So, we are as transfer-friendly as it gets!
The accelerated track is a prelicensure track that moves quickly and allows students to complete the program in four consecutive semesters of full-time study. The accelerated track includes a ten-week intense summer semester. To accelerate, a student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of the spring semester and not be on academic probation. A minimum cohort of 16 students may be required to offer this track. Students from both campuses are welcome to participate in this track; however, summer courses are ONLY offered on the Danville Campus.
The traditional track is a prelicensure track designed to complete the nursing program in four semesters. Students complete all courses during fall and spring semesters. Students may choose to take up to six credit hours in the summer semester. A minimum cohort of 16 students may be required to offer this track.
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) with varying levels of experience who graduated from an associate degree or hospital-based diploma program are welcome to pursue our BSN degree.
Our LPN-BSN track reduces the number of required credit hours for licensed practical nurses by proficiency.
Our RN-BSN track reduces the number of required credit hours for registered nurses through proficiency, acceptance of prior coursework, and work history.

"Lakeview is definitely a smaller campus, but I think that's what makes it unique. The professors know who you are and actually care about you being successful in their class. As super cheesy as it sounds, the whole big family bit is valid. From caring staff and close friends, Lakeview will always have a special place in my heart." -Christina Kwartnik, BSN, MSN, FNP (Pending), Class of December 2018
